ABOUT

Who We Are

We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to guiding groups on backcountry expeditions. We welcome travelers of various backgrounds who are seeking to discover more about the purpose and plan for their life through open discussions about faith, truth, morality, and God. By unplugging from the noise of digital society, we aim to connect with the beauty and rawness of creation.

BACKPACKING EXPEDITIONS

CANOE EXPEDITIONS

Backpacking with a group of guys will build a level of camaraderie that other people will not be able to understand unless they do it. Intentionally separating yourself from the business of life, pushing yourself to be okay with being uncomfortable, actively limiting distractions, and having group time to study and pray, really pressed me to realign priorities when I returned to everyday life. If you are living life or practicing faith monotonously, I would challenge you to plan a trip like this.

Backcountry Sojourners’ expeditions set aside the distractions of this world and allowed me to sharpen my faith, through fellowship in nature, to come back to Christ, my wife, family, and community with a renewed purpose to glorify Jesus Christ.

Greg, Illinois
This was my first expedition and I loved it. It was a 5 day trip through the Boundary Waters which is relatively rugged for me, involving canoeing and various levels of hiking. I’m used to camping in campgrounds with bathrooms and showers close by, but this was still truly a good experience. Our team (about 8 guys) was fed well physically and spiritually, and we were safe throughout the adventure. I learned so much and would certainly recommend this experience to a friend!

Ian, Michigan
There was a last-minute opening for me to join the backpacking/canoeing trip at the boundary waters in Minnesota, and luckily, I was able to make the time for it. Tom and the rest of the crew made this last-minute trip very seamless for me, their outdoors experience proved extremely helpful. Throughout the trip I created bonds with those I was with, grew in my faith, and stepped out of comfortability. This is a trip I'll remember for a lifetime and am extremely grateful for.
